This little camera is a great helmet cam. With the camera in the band of my visor I have hands free recording of fishing that I am making into a series of "How To" videos for my website. The microphone picks up my voice very well with the body of the camera in direct contact with my head. Others voices are distant and generally hard to hear.Video quality is surprisingly good , the range of view is good . There is no zoom or pan and it makes really good quality video for my purposes out to 20'.The waterproof feature is what sold me on the camera and tying it to a line and hanging it from a kite to record Sailfish bites has been it's main purpose in life.No leaks so far.The micro SDHC card is really small and the only way my computer would read them outside of the camera was with a USB adapter.

This camera has great video quality. It is very rugged and terrific underwater. Great camera for the price and application.
Two things to consider before buying are: Microphone/audio recording and additonal mounts for baseball cap, or headband of some sort.
The microphone is un-useable if you are trying to record a conversation, the rear cover on the camera will have to be left open to pick up any useable audio. But, if you are using it on your motorbike or skiing downhill and don't care much about the audio, then it works great... You can add music or natural sound later...

It comes with one mount and there are no additional accessories you can purchase to mount/affix the camera to something else other than a helmet. If you want to mount it to the top or front portion of your baseball cap, it's not so easy without some additional home made modifications... A miniature tripod with minimum adjustments (leveling for example) would have been very useful as an... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars You want durable? You've got it!, June 7, 2010

I bought this video camera to use for recording some mountain bike trails here in Colorado, but I decided to give it a test ride this week on my high powered rc car. I used the velcro dual lock strip they provide to attach it to the car, and I was pleased how well it fit on there. The camera also comes with two other mounts for top or side helmet mounting.

Anyways, I bounced this thing around the backyard for a while with no issues whatsoever, obviously a little jostling doesn't effect this, the picture quality is decent, definitely not hd, but very passable watching it full screen on my computer. The real test came doing some speed runs, I had a mid drive collision with a buddies car at about 40mph, the camera came flying off and went flipping end over end about 40 feet down asphalt. Picked it up fearing the worst, but after I reset the batteries it came to life immediately...that's crazy, I don't know that I've owned any other electronics that could have survived... Read more
