About half the buttons do not function, including the video button. Maybe they will function at depth, when the housing compresses a bit, I don't know yet. But I need the buttons to work on or near the surface, for shallow and snorkeling photos anyway. Also, the little rubber caps which cover the rods which press the actual camera buttons on the inside of the housing keep falling off and are insecure. I'm hoping Ikelite will replace this housing with one which will work. Quality control and design both appear to be issues with this housing. The actual Canon Elph camera is a wonderful product which comes with an underwater mode, good macro capabilities, HD autofocusing video, and forced flashing, which should be great for diving, so I'm hopeful I'll find a housing which will work with it.This subsequent paragraph is an update. I went with it because ive hear good things about their products. It seems like the last review was a one time mistake. Well I got my housing really quick and didn't hesitate to take it down to about 65ft. Some of the pros are: it keeps the camera safe, the buttons are big and easy to press if you dive with gloves and you can take it down to 200ft but I wouldn't do that myself. Some cons: You might have to use a little white/clear reflector so you dont get a small dark spot if your taking pictures up close and its a little bulky, not that big of a problem to me. I hope to come back soon to show the picture quality underwater with the housing. But for now I wanted to write a review so some buyers aren't deterred from purchasing this product. |
